Boro Burglaries in Broad Daylight Prompt Police to Ask Public for Help
Burglaries occurred three consecutive days last week
Three daytime burglaries and one attempted burglary in three days in Point Borough are prompting police to ask the public for help.
Police are investigating the incidents which occurred last week and are asking the public to alert them to any relevant information or suspicious persons or activity, said police in a prepared statement released on Tuesday morning.
According to the statement: on June 13, a home in the 200 block of River Avenue was burglarized; on June 14, an attempted burglary occurred in the 1100 block of Sunset Avenue and a burglary occurred in the 1300 block of Sunset Avenue; on June 15, a home in the 1200 block of Bay Avenue was burglarized.
"All burglaries occurred during the daytime hours while the residences were not occupied," police said. "Jewelry, cash and electronics were stolen from within."
"Although the police department is working on several leads generated through the investigations, residents are encouraged to report any suspicious subjects or vehicles to the Point Pleasant Police Department at 732-892-0060.Any residents who have information regarding one of the burglaries are requested to contact Detective Ed Miller or Detective Michelle Hill of the Point Pleasant Police Department."
Police said because they are involved in ongoing investigations of these crimes, they cannot release any further information at this time.
