Fundraiser for Carmie Brady Foundation to be Held April 10 at Jenkinson's
Proceeds help families caring for seriously ill children
The Carmie Brady Foundation Annual Fundraiser will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. April 10 at Jenkinson's Pavilion on the Boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach.
Admission is $20, with all proceeds going to families of seriously ill children in northern Ocean and southern Monmouth counties.
"To date we have raised over $115,000 and have assisted over 30 families," according to a statement on the foundation's web site, http://carmiebradyfoundation.com/2/upcoming-events/annual-fundraiser.
Entertainment will be provided by the Pipes and Drums of the Jersey Shore and by the band, Second Wind. Festivities will include a barbecue, a fifty-fifty raffle, and a gift auction.
Fundraisers are the organization's only way to raise money to help families with medical bills and other expenses incurred by caring for seriously ill children, according to the web site.

A sold-out fundraiser for the Carmie Brady Foundation at Crystal Point Yacht Club raised about $20,000 on Jan. 28, said Joseph Stevens Sr., owner of Gerard's Wine & Spirits, on Monday morning. The Bridge Avenue liquor store ran the fundraiser.
Brady was a Point Pleasant Borough resident who died from cancer after a long struggle. She was known for helping others going through the same struggle and her family has maintained the foundation to carry on her legacy.
Foundation funds also help families defray the costs of traveling to doctor appointments and hospitals and, in some cases, the costs of lodging near specialized hospitals providing cancer treatment.
