The Point Pleasant High School PTO is sponsoring “A Taste of Point” fundraiser from 1 to 5 p.m. March 24.

Several area restaurants, including The Shore House, Route 88, Point Borough; Forte, Bridge Avenue, Point Borough; The Offshore, Ocean Avenue, Point Pleasant Beach; and The Ark, Route 35, Point Pleasant Beach, will showcase their favorite menu selections for ticket holders to sample throughout the afternoon.

Where does it all start? Guests can visit any of the participating restaurants in any order they want.

A cash bar will be available at all locations.

The Shore House will offer: Drunken Chicken, Angus Beef Sliders, Lauren Blackened Chicken and an assortment of Chicken Wings.

The Ark will feature: Tequila Lime Shrimp and Hot Garlic Shrimp, Au Poivre or Blackened Filet Tips, Cod Fingers and Clam Chowder.

The Offshore will serve: Beef Tips Marsala, Chicken Francaise, Salmon with Balsamic Vinaigrette and roasted vegetables.

Antipasto Salad, Mediterranean Style Penne Pasta, and Chicken Paradise will be available at The Forte.

Proceeds will benefit Project Graduation and the HS PTO Scholarship Fund. The PTO hopes to increase its scholarship offerings this year in light of the devastation many students sustained due to Superstorm Sandy.

“This is a great way to support our high school seniors, and showcase local restaurants who give so much back to our community,” said HS PTO President Marcie Bradley. “It’s also sure to be a fun afternoon out for all who attend.”

A 50/50 raffle will be held and gift baskets will be auctioned at each location. Prizes include Disney Hopper Passes, a stay at the Inn at Laurita Winery, an Atlantic Club Wellness Package, NY Jets limited edition Darrelle Revis signed poster, NY Giants limited edition Eli Manning lithograph, a Lakewood Blue Claws package, and more.

The NCAA men’s basketball third round playoffs can be viewed at most locations that day.

Brigg’s Transportation will provide free shuttle service between restaurants for ticket-holders during the event.

Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door.

To purchase tickets, or for more information, please contact Marcie Bradley at 732-701-1900, ext. 2314 or Lanelle Cusack at 732-814-8945.

The members of the Point Pleasant Borough High School PTO “A Taste of Point” committee wish to extend our deep gratitude to the restaurants and patrons who so generously supported our event last Sunday.
The owners and staff at The Offshore, The Forte, The Ark and The Shore House welcomed us all afternoon and prepared and served wonderful food reflecting the quality of their typical offerings.
The area residents who attended the inaugural “A Taste of Point” restaurant tour were treated to a wonderful afternoon, and were most generous in purchasing gift auction and raffle tickets. Twelve fabulous prizes and a hefty 50/50 prize were awarded to applause and laughter as we finished up the day. We are so grateful to all who contributed items for the gift auction.
Thank you to everyone who supported our fundraiser. It was a very successful event which will benefit our scholarship fund and Project Graduation, and which will undoubtedly become an annual event.
