Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.
You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance.

Where/When: Berkeley Township branch of the Ocean County Library. 30 Station Road, Bayville, NJ 08721, 732-269-2144. March 1 - all day.
Why Go: The library staff kicks off Women's History Month with a search for famous women. Stop in anytime during the day to see the list of famous women. Learn what they did to become famous and win a small prize. The event is open to children of all ages.

• INSECTROPOLIS - THE BUGSEUM OF NJ (http://www.insectropolis.com/)
Where/When: 1761 Route 9, Toms River, NJ 08755, 732-349-7090. Tuesday - Saturday 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Open same hours on Mondays in July and August.
Why Go: Whether you are a bug enthusiast or just a curious visitor, Insectropolis has over a dozen exhibit areas that are sure to educate and entertain.
Pricing: • Admission is $7 per visitor. Children 2 and under are free. Groups of 15 or more pay $5 per visitor.
* GATEWAY TO THE PINELANDS
Where/When - The Nature Center at Jakes Branch County Park, 1100 Double Trouble Road, Beachwood, NJ, 732-281-2750. . The Nature Center is open Monday-Friday: 8:30 am to 4:00 pm and Saturday - Sunday: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Why Go: The center features exhibits about the history, wildlife and ecology of the Pinelands, live reptiles and amphibians, presentations and activities.

Where/When - Toms River branch of the Ocean County Library, 101 Washington Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. 732-349-6200. Tuesday, March 1, 10 a.m.
Why Go: As March begins, celebrate the changing of the season by making cute crafts. Children of all ages.

* POPCORN PARK ZOO
Where/When: 1 Humane Way Forked River, NJ 08731, 609-693-1900. 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., 7 days a week. Holidays 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Why Go: Popcorn Park Zoo is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.
Pricing: Adults - $5; Seniors and Children under 12 - $4; Children under 3 - FREE.

YAY!!!!!! I love this idea :) As a mom with a 3 year old boy, we are always looking for fun things to do, especially on yucky weather days. We love Popcorn Park Zoo, we rescued our dog Bella from there, and our kitty Sophia :)
