Point Boro Boys Basketball Falls to Holmdel 66-58

Boro finishes 16-10, Holmdel impoves to 18-8

Point Borough Boys Basketball fell to Holmdel 66 to 58 in Holmdel on Saturday afternoon.

Point Borough trailed Holmdel 24-20 at the half and Holmdel increased their lead to 30-20 early in the second half.

Point Borough rallied to 30-28 but could not take the lead. Borough trailed 40-32 at the end of the third quarter and trailed only 47-43 with just under four minutes to go in the game.

Holmdel then scored eight straight points to put the game away. Holmdel's strong three-point shooting and dribble penetration were the keys to victory for Holmdel.

 Senior Shaun Cooke had 22 points, 17 of which came in the fourth quarter. The  Borough's all-time leader scorer received a lengthy standing ovation from the boro crowd when he was removed from the game with about 10 seconds left.

The three other seniors who also concluded their Boro career are: Kevin MacIver, Alex Lorenz and Ja'shon Woodard.
