Looking to Donate in Ocean County? A List To Help After Hurricane Sandy

Donations, sorters needed

Folks looking to lend a hand or drop off much-needed items have a list of places to go to help out in Ocean County.

Hurricane Sandy has devastated much of the area and non-perishable food, toiletries, baby items, clothing and more are being donated.

Where can you drop off items you'd like to donate?

The Ocean County Sheriff's Office released the following list.

Toms River Office of Emergency Management Paul Daley advised donors to not drop off items at evacuation shelters directly. Instead use the list of donation centers so volunteers there can process items.

In many cases, volunteers are welcome at the donation centers. A main task is to help sort. Call to confirm.

Below is the names and addresses of the donation centers as released by the Sheriff's Office. Call to confirm what items each site will accept.

Here is the list:

Great job of reporting and getting much needed information disseminated. Don't take electric for granted and hustle to get things done while it is working. We had it for days and just lost it off Lakehurst Rd by Community Medical Center.

I am from Virginia, and I have the same concern as M. Harding. Can I send clean, washed blankets and coats, sweaters to a Jersey or NY donation center?
Which ones?

Hello, I am from Ocean County and I am only 15 minutes form toms river and Seaside Heights , I would like to physically help assist in donating my time over the weekend in helping directly in one of the rescue shelters in tomsriver, seaside or surrounding areas. I also would like to physically help victims that have lost their homes find their belongings in helps of restoration... Please can someone let me know how I am able to do that... I am so close to home of the Jersey shore and I would rather directly volunteer families personally. I am also pursuining my license to be a Mental Health counselor at Monmouth University for Mental Health Counseling , and feel I can be beneficial in being a possible support system for children and families... I we have talents, or specific skills that can benefit others and we are living in Nj we should be able to be permitted to perhaps help directly and donate in some way... I am looking forward to any/all responses... May god bless all of us... Lisa A Cutalo, Jackson, NJ

I am a swim coach from the Somerset Valley YMCA in central NJ-Somerset County. The weekend of the 10th and 11th about 60 members of our swim team will be at the Ocean County YMCA for a swim meet. We would like to bring down items that are needed and would like a specific list so that we bring exactly what is needed. In addition, we will have manpower available to help out Saturday afternoon for 4-5 hours and would like to offer our services but need direction. Can someone please guide us? coachadele@gmail.com 908-313-0404

The TRFC has a list of what's needed and they are also a collection point for Hurricane Relief donations. They are located on Riverwood Road, just off of Whitesville, the building next to the Soccer Bubble.

The Presbyterian Church of Toms River is taking food donations. They always need food donations to stock their food pantry, and now they are hosting Red Cross workers as well.

Anyone interested in volunteering their time can go to Operation Blessing at Lighthouse Alliance Church at the corner of Gifford Town Lane and Route 9, Egg Harbor Township 757 793 1837.
I worked with them today. The are very well organized, very professional, and very well equipped. Right now they need people to remove items from homes, box items to be saved, taking destroyed items to curb, and removing wet carpet and flooring. There is something for everyone to do.

Some tribes in Sudan and Senegal http://www.coachoutletonlinexc.net/ Coach Factory Outlet have an average height of 6-foot-6, which also happens to be the size of the average NBA player. People in Nigeria, http://www.louisvuittonoutletam.net/ Louis Vuitton Purses Mali and Congo tend to be very big and physical. We need to build a strategy to go into these regions http://www.coachoutletstoreze.com/ Coach Factory Outlet and cultivate the talent through infrastructure and instruction. Not long ago, soccer in Africa was almost http://www.guccibeltsoutletds.net/ Gucci Belts the same way. As a http://www.coachoutletb1.com/ Coach Factory Online result, nearly every major soccer team has a lot of African players.Through my experience as a Nigerian player, http://www.coachoutlethcs.com/ Coach Outlet Online coach and now NBA executive, I believe basketball can follow a similar path.
