In Ocean County this is no longer being called a hurricane: it is a storm like many we get year round. The more restrained Mayor has not declared this an evacuation situation. Maybe wiser heads should look at this minute by minute and not make huge blanket decisions this early in the game.

As I understand they do have rivers and streams up in Trenton that will have major flooding due to the amount of rain that they have forecasted inland as well. I hope everybody is safe.

Really State of Emergency means just that, even if they are, "State Workers'. They are planning to close many of the road ways,and there is a risk of down lines and trees this is a good enough reason for state offices to close.Those state workers are our family members that would be puttting themselves in harms way going to work, just because they are state workers!

No, I do not have a single state worker in my family. So many of those folks hold down two and three of those jobs that there just aren't enough to go around.

Wonder if that means the dippers will get paid for both or all of those jobs they don't have to go to?

Not every state worker is a politician raking in 3 salaries! Some are just average people trying to survive in this economy just like you. I resent when people lump state workers into one pile and assume they are all bad people.

Just a storm. This is the worse storm i can remember in 55 yrs So glad foggy doesnt get to decide who to send out in the storm!

so foggy is very quiet I guess the state new better than he about keeping the state worker safe. Yes my husband had off 3 days becuase there was no power in Trenton and a travel band in our home town. In the future think twice befor you judge!
