UPDATE: New Round of Mandatory Evacuations Ordered in Brick As Nor'Easter Approaches

Nor'easter threatens several mainland areas of township

Numerous mainland areas of Brick Township were ordered to evacuate Monday night due to an impending nor'easter that threatens to bring high winds, tides and heavy rain to neighborhoods already battered by Hurricane Sandy.

The Brick Township Office of Emergency Management is monitoring a Nor’ Easter that has the potential to strongly impact the township with high winds, storm surge and flooding, Brick Police Sgt. Keith Reinhard said Monday night.

The order has been issued for all residents who reside in low lying waterfront areas of town that are prone to flooding and/or storm surge by Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 6 p.m.

The mandatory evacuation order includes, but is not limited to:

  • Midstreams neighborhood East of Jordan Rd.
  • Area of Island Dr. in Cedarcroft
  • North & South Dr. (Metedeconk)
  • Princeton Ave. East of Beaver Dam Rd.
  • Cedarbridge Manor East of Lions Lane
  • Vanada Woods
  • Eagle Pass
  • Sandy Point
  • Tilton Rd
  • Cranberry Cove
  • Swan Point Park including Beaton and Gale Rd.
  • Baywood East of Pilot Dr. and Mandolay Dr.
  • Cherry Quay South of Tiller Lane
  • Sailors Quay off of Pleasant Dr., North Pier and South Sailors Quay
  • Waterfront Property in Mallard Point
  • Seaview Dr. & Seaview Ave in Seaview Village
  • Shore Acres

Residents whose homes do not fall into the mandatory area, but have been damaged or affected by Hurricane Sandy are being strongly encouraged to evacuate, Reinhard said.

Residents are encouraged to seek shelter with friends and/or family who are in a safe location. For those residents that require transportation to a shelter, you can contact the call center at 732-262-1234.

The nor'easter is expected to affect the Shore area Wednesday morning through Thursday morning. The National Weather Service office in Mt. Holly has issued a high wind watch for that time period, during which it said wind could be sustained at 20 to 35 m.p.h. with gusts reaching 65 m.p.h.

For the evacuation near Baywood, does this include Waterside Gardens? Alot of my complex' cars and apartments were ruined, it was really bad in there. We are on day 8 of no power. I just wanna double check and be safe and see if this includes us. Waterside Gardens off of Baywood/Drum Point.

The list of streets/neighborhoods was provided to us by the police department. For very specific questions, I would refer people to the township's storm hotline, which is 732-262-1234.

O.M.G.,LIKE WE HAVN'T HAD ENOUGH. A NOR 'EASTER ON THE WAY. HOW MUCH MORE DAMAGE CAN WE GET. MY AREA OF SHORE ACRES LOOKS LIKE A WAR ZONE. I FOUND THE SHORE ACRES YACHT CLUBS SIGN IN MY BACKYARD. MAYBE THIS IS JUST MOTHER NATURES WAY OF CLEANING UP THE AREA.

Is there a way you can put a DIRECT link on here to be able to post this article on one's FB home Page? I'd like to share this on my page, but I could not do it from here, or from your own FB Page. Could not copy & paste either. Some people are not aware of PATCH, and won't read this. Help??

Thank you Patch for this news. My sister lives in Brick and was not aware of the evacuation. It was only through your article that I was finally able to get her on her cell and let her know. She, like many in Brick, has had no power for DAYS! No phone, no internet, no way of knowing what was happening. Thank you again. All residents of Brick, please be safe!

A couple of questions regarding mandatory evacuation: If these folks don't have power or phones as a result of Sandy, how do they know? Has the Brick PD or OEM personnel notified them personally by knocking on their doors?

To Tom Cular - My sister had no idea about the evacations. Cell phone service is sporadic! She had said she hadn't seen one police car, one fire truck, one Red Cross truck in her neighbord. I called the OEM in Brick from North Jersey and told them that she had had no power for DAYS - no phone for DAYS - no internet for DAYS! I asked if they were going to send someone through the neighborhood with a bullhorn. There was complete silence on the line. I was finally able to get through to her on her cell and she evacauted. Had it not been for Patch, my sister would be alone in Brick.

Um so why did we evacuate last night? I wake to light rain, this is insane last thing I wanted to do was leave my house again and now you've pushed me out a day early...thanks. I live on the water I've seen rain and wind whip up a good bit but have never felt the need to leave my home! Storm surge or not, what more damage can be done?! After this do me a favour, let me just stay in my own home!

One thing which will hint at the right formula to this concern about UGG boots is to observe the history of whatever we now call UGG boot footwear. UGG boots will be originally from Modern australia. The first denote be made is definitely that UGG boot footwear are nothing innovative. They were included in World War I actually by pilots as an easy way of keeping heated in unpressurized cabins of your planes they ended up being flying. Also they were included in past decades by way of surfers and swimmers that allows you to quickly warm their feet after the match or exercising. Now in 2010 UGG boots absolutely are a high fashion movement. Who would that is amazing boots http://www.putuggon.com/ Ugg Boots Outlet On Sale,Cheap to Buy with Ugg! - UGG Online Store which were never meant to be worn while in front of other people for any shear shame of their total UGGly appearance would become a product or service of high design amongst people everywhere.
