Numerous People Arrested Over Weekend
Drunken driving, minor drug possession, resisting arrest among charges
A slew of people were arrested and charged with varying offenses over the weekend, police said.
Chelsea Hare, 29, of Allentown was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on I-195 around 12:15 a.m. Saturday. Patrolman Todd Verrecchia was the arresting officer, Sgt. Frank Lancellotti said.
Glenn Sowul, 21, of Wall was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after he lost control of his car, struck a fence, a stop sign and a street sign on 18th Avenue aound 1:00 a.m. Saturday. Patrolman Jason Costantini was the arresting officer, Lancellotti said.
Michael P. Kokolis, 18, of Middletown, was arrested and charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana after being stopped at a DWI checkpoint on Route 34 around 12:30 a.m. Saturday. Patrolman Hunter Brockriede was the arresting officer, Lancellotti said.
Patrick Piro, 28, of Point Pleasant and Gina Piro, 30, of Red Bank were arrested on separate charges following a traffic stop on Route 34 around 11:15 p.m. Saturday. Patrick Piro was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. Gina Piro was arrested and charged with obstruction and disorderly conduct. Patrolman Andrew Baldino was the arresting officer, Lancellotti said.
Kenneth Northrup, 30, of Neptune, was arrested and charged with possession of less than 50 grams of Marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic top on River Road around 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Patrolman Andrew Baldino was the arresting officer, Lancellotti said.
Connor Berry, 19, of Spring Lake Heights and Tony Petrosino, 19, of Neptune City were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest following a report of a disturbance at the Red Carpet Inn on Route 35 around 2:00 a.m. Monday. Patrolmen JustinHudson and Vincent Mazzaccaro were the arresting officers, Lancellotti said.

And this country want to legalize marijuana? This is why it shouldnt be! These people who want marijuana to be legalized are only after their selfish intentions... To abuse it! Its. Plant i know and grows in the surface of earth but this is the kind of plant that impairs you and your judgement resulting accidents where innocent people get affected! If people's intention is to use it medically, the hospital or government needs to build a facility supervised by medical experts where people can smoke it for the right purpose.

@nemi raf... marijuana has many health benefits and how many does alcohol have hmmm. Alcohol is legal because it kills people plain and simple. A form of population control. In this report where does it say they were smoking behind the wheel. If marijuana was legal they wouldn't be getting arrested for petty stuff like this.
