The Heartbeat of Pt. Pleasant stopped when the news of Darren Arms passing hit residents of all ages yesterday. God bless his beautiful wife Lisa and their amazing children during this difficult time. Praying the power-of-friendship & the spirit-of-community can help bring "our" Darren's enitre family strength on the other side of this nightmare. The community suffered a great loss My thoughts & prayers to his family & the staff of Colonial Market. Darren was truly a great guy and great supporter of the boro football team & many other groups in the community. Another great one gone to soon.

OMG!! We were just there yesterday getting our usual Sunday supplies for the week and in fact stood and commented about the beautiful picture up on the wall that we had just noticed with him surrounded by his beautiful children. I am so sorry to hear this and my prayers and sympathy reach out to his beautiful family. He was a great guy with a great business and a wonderful family. God Rest His Soul.

Our Sunshine Harbor community will always remember Darren coming thru our neighborhood with a pickup truck full of food to hand out just after Hurricane Sandy. My neighbors and I were amazed at his dedication and compassion to the community to give so generously. Great man. Will miss seeing him at the market. Our warmest condolences and deepest sympathy to his entire family.

My family has known The Arms Family for over 30 years. My brother in law Rick...who Darren nick named him Monk was the butcher and a dear friend.My sister Linda works there now in the deli. Her friendship with her late husband Rick aka Monk to Lenny and his late wife Mary was very close. Linda knows and works with most of Darren and Lisa's loving children. Yesterday, was indeed a shock. But was quick...no suffering or lingering. That is the way I would want to die. Darren had a huge heart. He has excellent seats in Heaven to watch over his wife and family and friends and employees and his beloved New York Giants. His customers will miss him terribly. I was in the store last week and saw him and thought how much he looks like his Dad Lenny who now lives in Florida with his daughter Frankie. Life is so short. Live for today...R.I.P. Darren Arms...you are missed.

The Boro of Point Pleasant has lost a wonderful husband, dedicated father, and successful business entrepreneur in that of Darren Arms. His generosity throughout the years has always exceeded my expectations! My deepest sympathies to Lisa, Bryan, Brandon, Billy, Amanda, Jennifer, Shannon, and to his "other family" the employees at the Colonial Ranch Market!

I just saw him when I was in this weekend to pick up breakfast supplies. His is one of the few businesses that I will frequent just so that I can spend my money at with a local business that does so much to support our economy. I literally feel good every time I walk out of that store. His entire staff is like one huge family. I don't know him personally, but take this loss very personally. My deepest condolences to his family.

What a loss for everyone who ever met Darren - he has always been the most generous person you could ever wish to meet. He worked with us every year doing Pie Fundrasers for our local soccer teams. He never blinked an eye when we asked for his help. He opened up his store to us and did all that he could to make sure it was a success. He will truly be missed by everyone that has ever been fortunate enough to meet him.

I met Lenny years ago in Point, and shopped his store there. I moved to Silverton, and was so happy to see Lenny again when they opened up. I have seen his sons grow up and become outstanding community members. They are the kind of people that make this a great place to live. My prayers are with the entire family. God Bless You All.

what a loss.... a very class act person....from stories ive read on here about him giving out food to people hurt by sandy, to the condolences and graciousness he afforded my family when my father passed , to the down to earth , like you and i person he always was as ive known him......you will be missed

Darren is a Great man. Always was and always will be. A true pillar of the community.

Darren Arms is the reason that Point Pleasant will always be our hometown,that family has done so much for our town and mostly for the youth of the community for over 35 yrs,beginning with Lennys in the 70s.I hope the entire community will somehow memorialize Darren in a way that might keep his spirit and pride alive forever.I do hope our town shows Darrens family at his services the same love and appreciation he gave to us.I also encourage the Boro Police and Fire Dept to represent the community he gave so much to by leading the procession to his place of rest.not sure what that would take to make happen-but its the right thing to do.He cetainly deserves it.

I know his older daughter Shannon. I never got to meet her any of her family, but given what an intelligent ray of sunshine that she is, I know her father must have been an amazing person. My deepest condolences go out to her and her whole family. God bless you all.

I will always remember running into Darren at the Giants playoff game in Tampa 5 years ago. I'll always remember tailgating with Darren at GIANTS Stadium on the Idle Hour bus. I will miss his friendly smile and his handshake every time I come in to Colonial Ranch. Now, may God embrace him into his loving arms . Forever! May God be with his fiamily and comfort them at this difficult time .

We extend our sincere condolences to the Arms family. Eileen and I watched Darren grow up under the guidance of his loving father Lenny and mother Mary. He embraced his parents teachings of a fine work ethic and a love of the community in which he was raised. His honesty as a businesman and his dedication to making Point Pleasant a nice place to live won"t easily be forgotten by the many people, young and old , who's lives he touched, perhaps unbeknown to him.
His parents, Lenny (my friend and one of Point Pleasant's finest mayors) and Mary ( deceased yet still loved by Eileen and I) have so much to be proud of in Darren . May Darren and Mary be reunited in Heaven and once again enjoy the love and companionship they had on Earth.
