Party for Point Beach Fire Dept. Sat. Night

Rock-N-Relief Holds Benefit for Volunteer Dept. at Idle Hour

What do naked apes, mangoes and firefighters all have in common?

They'll all be at a rockin' fundraiser for the Point Beach Fire Department at the Idle Hour Saturday night.

"A Night for Point Beach," planned and run by Rock-N-Relief, runs from 4 p.m. until, well, whenever naked apes tend to get tired.

But seriously, here's the line-up: Five Mile Smile with Kidd Figg and Mark Sroka of Rock-N-Relief opening at 4 p.m., followed by: Ric Rey from PA; Point Borough's John Brue and the Brue Crew coming on around 6 p.m.; Tyler Veit Blue Trio; the Naked Apes; the Mangos; and Matt Noffsinger hitting the stage around 10 p.m.

Tickets are $15 each if purchased in advance at the Idle Hour and $20 each if purchased at the door.

About 80 percent of the proceeds go to the volunteer Point Beach Fire Department. Their Arnold Avenue firehouse flooded during Sandy when they worked with police and first aid to rescue people from flooded homes, responded to other emergencies, fed many displaced residents and provided numerous other services.

The price of admission gets you non-stop live local music, a hot buffet, and drink specials.

Rock-N-Relief is the same organization that ran a fundraiser at the Idle Hour last month, raising more than $1,300 to benefit the Point Borough Fire Department.
