Pasta Fundraiser at Point Boro Middle School Honored Two Boro H.S. Girls

Pasta dinner on Wednesday night donated money in the names of Jordan Calabrese and Katy Ventura

A pasta dinner fundraiser was held at Memorial Middle School cafeteria on Wednesday night, with proceeds being donated in the name of two Point Borough High School girls who passed away.

The cost was $10 per person.

"Both Jordan Calabrese and Katy Ventura were beloved by their families and fellow classmates and the proceeds from the pasta dinner will be donated in their names to the Make-a-Wish Foundation and the Katy Ventura Foundation," according to a Patch event listing written by event organizers.

"The Point Pleasant Borough National Honor Society and Interact Club are hosting the pasta dinner to honor the girls who would have been graduating with the Class of 2012, but sadly have passed away during their high school years."

Jordan, 18, died on Dec. 4, the morning after she had briefly been a party with friends the night before. She died of natural causes, as shown in an autopsy, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.

Katy, 14, died a few years ago from injuries from a biking accident at the intersection of Route 88 and Arnold Avenue.
