The 15th Annual Beach Plum Festival at Island Beach State Park went off without a hitch Sunday under sunny skies and near-perfect temperatures. The event was sponsored by the Friends of Island Beach State Park.

We love the Beach Plum Festival and attend every year. This was the first time we were turned away due to lack of parking. Wouldn't it be better to send the beach goers to the next beach and leave the first parking lot for the Festival attendees? There was no way I could have walked from the second lot to the first to attend and return to our car carrying the things we wanted to purchase.

Not sure how you would enforce that; for example I went at 10 a.m., enjoyed the festival and then the beach. It was a really lovely day for this year's festival and there was a bounty of fruit this year.
