GOP Wins Point Beach Council Race

Results in this and other NJ races not final yet

The Ocean County Clerk's website has updated vote totals this morning. All vote totals increased, but they do not change the outcome regarding who won. See chart below.

Republican Point Beach Council incumbents Stephen Reid and his running mate George "Andy" Cortes have apparently defeated their challengers, although the Ocean County clerk's office is advising that results in this and other races are not final.

The Republicans were challenged for two, three-year seats by Democrats Sharon Cadalzo and Barry Moffett and Independent Tom Davis. Given the vote spread (see results in box below), it's likely the Republicans will remain the winners, even though email and fax voting has been extended by the state to Friday.

The Point Pleasant Beach Board of Education candidates running unopposed for two, three-year seats are Michael Spader and James Ireland. (Numbers in box below.)

Results will not be official for a while. For one thing, Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno issued a directive Tuesday afternoon extending New Jersey's email and fax voting to Friday night, according to nj.com.

The article reports: "In a directive issued this afternoon, Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno instructed county clerks to accept applications for mail-in ballots by fax or e-mail through 5 p.m. today. Clerks will process those applications throughout the week, and ballots must be returned by 8 p.m. Friday."

Also, the Ocean County Clerk website states that mail-in and provisional results will not be final until Nov. 21.

And Point Beach Municipal Clerk Maryann Ellsworth reported Monday night: "Absentees have not been counted. There are about 350 out there. There were also two or three provisional ballots in each of the four districts."

The following results for higher levels of government are ONLY how Ocean County voters cast their ballots.

Nice job Andy and Steve. Now that we have completed step 1 we now need to focus on completing step 2. Step 2 is getting Tooker and Corbally out. We need to begin now!

This town is divided and always will be. It just shows you by the split of all the different votes for each candidate split five ways. All of the residents should look long hard and closely at themselves in the mirror before they call others out. There is a lot of fraud, fake disingenuous "PONZI SCHEMES" happening from all our leaders in all parties and sides in this town. The hypocritical phonies are hard to look at. I am glad I know where some stand even though I might not agree with them. Arlene******No one is singing in the condition this town is in. Everyone loses.
