Go read it again. It is NOT mostly locals, either way does not matter to me. Who ever breaks the law should be punished to the law or ordinances. There should be no special treatment. If you do the crimes, you pay the fines no matter who you are or where you live.

so i was in your fine community at the end of august on a thursday. went for the fireworks. drove around for 30 minutes looking for a space. parked at a meter at 8:30 pm on Baltimore ave. pitch black, never saw a sign that meters were in effect until 11 pm. after dropping close to 200 bucks at the boardwalk, returned to car to see a $48.00 parking ticket. are you guys for real? 15, 20, 25 bucks ok, but 48? closer look at the ticket shows it was filled out improperly, no signature, no meter number, no expiration of registration, all boxes left out on the ticket. so I pled not guilty by mail (I live in new york, 200 miles away) judge says guily, send 48 bucks or else, never addresses the improperly filled out ticket. well, thats the last time I come to your town. nice way to bang the out of staters who want to spend money in your community. Nothing but a money grab by your government. I will be staying in Lavallette from now on. No meters!

Sorry Bob, no meters on Baltimore Avenue. And wherever you did park, if you did park at a meter....then you must have known you have to pay for parking...or did you think the meter was a decoration? $48 is a fee that is along the state guidelines. Sorry the judge did not buy your not guilty plea. Enjoy Lavallette....there are plenty of parking meters there....I'd suggest putting money in for your time so you don't get more parking tickets.

PS - your $200 on the boardwalk went to the boardwalk business owners....and $0 to the town for that time.

well," a resident", the ticket says baltimore ave, meter violation, are you saying your peo's are making up violations? Most communities, meters end at 6, 7 or 8pm. not 11pm. and I have been going to lavallette for over 30 years, not one meter in that community. no worries, i will not return. money spend on the boardwalk, has sales tax added to the price, and the boardwalk owner pays property taxes. if no one goes to the boardwalk, he is out of business, and no property taxes to your community. Hey, I would pay 20, 25 bucks, but 48 is nothing more then a money grab on tourists.

Good job Point police! Keep getting the trashy ones off the Boards and leave it for the good people that behave. It doesn't matter where they're from, A holes are A holes.
Even this summer it starting feeling like a "family" resort again!
Thank You!

Cha ching $$$$ for the PPB coffers from all the mis behaved people in the above article. No real crime, just a bunch of stupid people, making stupid decisions. I believe the PPB police motto should be changed from "serve and protect" to "harass and collect". After all, its ALWAYS about the $$$$ !!!!!!

outofthebeach4now, Of all people, you should know that. It is all about the money for you too! How's Brielle? I am sure your town would be doing the same thing. All towns make money on mis behaved people, they surely don't make it on the one's who don't break the laws.

As I said in the above "MCS" which I believe you have none of, stupid people making stupid decisions. Most if not all of the stupidity above will be plea bargined down to a slap on the wrist to add more $$$$ to the PPB coffers. After all, its ALL about the $$$$$.

Great job by the Barrella-dependents Gordon Tooker Corbally and Barrella. Police presence leads to quiet streets and no more pissing on lawns so ordinance violations go down but bad publicity from emphasis on few bad apples brings the rowdies and drives the family's away. As Corbally said in the APP "It’s been a rough three or four months from a public relations standpoint and the council has had something to do with it. . . "
