UPDATE: Point Boro Also Continues Brush and Debris Collection
Leaves can also be brought to the recycling center
Point Borough is continuing collection of brush, tree limbs and household debris, in addition to resuming leaf collection.
Brush is currently being collected in Section 1 and then collection will move through town.
Many residents had brush collected over the weekend (including in sections 4 and 5), but some of that collection was done by Ocean County and by a group associated with FEMA.
The Borough is also collecting tree limbs that are 3 inches by 5 to 6 feet. The Borough asks that residents try to get the brush cut as close as possible to those lengths, although that's not being strictly enforced.
Larger tree limbs and tree trunks and cut-up trunks will be collected on dates still to be determined.
Household debris is also being collected. Collection has been done in most damaged sections of town at least once and will be making return trips.
The Point Borough Department of Public Works will begin picking up leaves in Section 4 on Monday, Dec. 10 and will then proceed through Sections 5, 1, 2 and 3, respectively, according to the Borough of Point Pleasant Facebook page.
Public Works asks, "Please have all leaves at the curb either loose or in bags."
Leaves will not be picked up again until April 2013. Leaves can always be taken to the recycling center seven days a week.
For details about what can and cannot be included in leaves put out for collection, see the leaf collection page of the Borough website.
Sections are the same as those for recycling. If you do not know what section you are in, please click here for a map of the sections.
