Man bleeding from self-inflicted wound transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center
A man who lives on Osprey Court in Point Borough injured himself and was bleeding when he was transported by Monoc helicopter to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune on Monday, police said.
The man had tried to kill himself, but Monoc paramedics, the Point Boro First Aid Squad, Point Borough Fire Department and police responded to the scene and it was believed he was going to survive, said Point Borough Police Chief Larry Williams late Monday afternoon.
The man was transported to Beaver Dam Park on Burnt Tavern Road, where the Monoc helicopter landed and transported him to the hospital.
There was no one else involved or injured in the incident, Williams said, adding that police are not releasing the man's name or any other information due to the nature of the incident.
