Point Boro Woman Charged in Crash with Point Beach Police Car

Woman charged with failure to stop in Point Beach

A 72-year-old Point Borough woman was charged with failure to stop or yield after allegedly crashing into a Point Beach police officer driving his vehicle on Route 35 North, police said on Thursday.

Hylah Grant was driving west on Forman Avenue when she failed to stop at a stop sign and drove into Route 35 North, crashing into a marked police car driven by Corporal Peter Andreyev at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, said Detective Patrick Petruzziello.

Andreyev had been unable to avoid the other car, Petruzziello said.

Both drivers were transported to Meridian's Urgent Care Center on Route 88 West in Point Borough and treated for injuries that were not life threatening, Petruzziello said.

Grant's Honda Accord and the marked police vehicle were towed from the scene.

The accident is being investigated by Sgt. Gerald Quaglia.

Hey Trenton, where is the law that requires seniors to retake the driving test every few years!

Oh wait, that would make to much sense.

There are too many accidents in that intersection... your points Laura & Boo, are ridiculous as well as rude...Young or old, an accident can happen to anyone. The town needs to do something about the corners of Forman & Cincinnati and Forman & Richmond.

Your right, those intersections are terrible. The only stop sign is before the tracks, although I don't know how you just keep rolling onto 35 north without stopping. I'm sure we'll be seeing more signs at those intersections in a few weeks.
