isnt there any way to stop people driving without their license?...its not the honest person taking their punishment like a grown up and not driving for 3 months its these people who do this stuff!...wish there was a way to figure it out. cant a lawyer/judge kinda tell the character of someone when they are in court?

Prayers are in for all involved. Anne, how do you know 40 accidents in an hour? Just curious and I believe it. I drove over the parkway here in Lacey about 5:30 last night and saw at least 3 seperate accidents on the parkway and 1 on Lacey Rd. I guess black ice was the problem.

The driver should never be let out of jail! Something has to stop these drunk drivers. They never kill themselves, only the innocent ones!

cds is contrlolled dangerous substance. this accident comes only a week after Patrick (Robert) Cook of Point Pleasant killed an 80 year old woman (Jane Eager) whlle driving down Jordan Road in Brick. The paper said he was driving drunk but I would like to see the toxicology report because I can almost guarantee you that he too was
under the influence of a CDS. He has also had at least one DUI in the past although I'm almost certain he has had two! Very tragic...my condolences go out tp the families!

To cammi-if you are referring to The Lord having mercy on Eric Hernandez's (the driver) soul, I too hope The Lord has mercy on his soul. I just pray that the judge does not. I hope the judge grants not mercy but rather, justice!!!

I made it a point to show this story to my son, because during Sandy he stopped to help an elderly couple who had a flat and some jerk in a cream colored p/u hit his truck and heavily damaged it AND RAN.

This is a true shame. One of the problems is when these people are caught under the influence of drugs the judges will just give them a slap on the wrist at most. When they are caught they should definitely get jail time and I am not even talking about the ones who kill or injure people because they are on drugs, those type should be thrown in jial with the key thrown away.

It's really sad, because the people who use drugs and drive among other things just get slaps on the wrist over and over because all the jails are over crowded and they want to make sure they have spots for murderers and rapists. Sadly some of the crimes wouldn't happen if they were punished for Their previous crimes first. But lets just put them in drug court and do community service. Waste of time!!!

I really hope there is justice for this man tragically killed, it's such a shame an angel trying to help a woman gets robbed of his life by some man who thinks its ok to use drugs and then drive around. May his family find peace it the good man he was, and his soul rest easy...

@Momof2boys, I agree with you. The only problem is that if we want to keep them in jail, we need to pay more taxes. Do you want to do that? Plus just watch when someone in lacey gets charged for drugs. All the bleeding hearts come out trying to say how that person shouldnt go to jail and how they just need help. Thats when you find the people doing drugs while awaiting trial for their drug crimes.

Josef Kramer, excuse you with your rude comments of whether or not his immigration status is of any importance .... he was a kind good hearted man trying to help a woman who crashed. Why would you be so ignorant to call someone who lost their life a fool? Nonetheless be concerned of his immigration status. You need to check yourself before you speak poorly of a man you know nothing about besides his choice to be a kind brave man and help a woman in distress.

Kramer, I'm sure, is intimately acquainted with the word "fool"
