Are Snooki and JWoww Headed to Manchester?
Rumors abound, but no official confirmation from show producers
Reports are swirling that MTV stars Snooki and JWoww may be headed to Manchester.
Multiple residents who live on or near Johnson Avenue have written in to Patch to say that they've seen trucks and other vehicles with New York license plates at a home near the township's POW-MIA Park, supposedly gearing up for filming of "Snooki & JWoww," a "Jersey Shore" spinoff.
Manchester Mayor Michael Fressola said that he spoke with the owner of the alleged filming site, a large, modern two-story home, who said that a deal to lease the property for the production was in the works. Fressola could not confirm that such a deal was executed, however.
When contacted by Patch, the owner of the property declined to confirm that the home had been leased out for production of the show and deferred questions to Fressola.
No one from MTV has contacted the township about the shoot, Fressola said. Unlike other municipalities, such as Toms River where an ordinance prohibits filming in residential areas, nothing in Manchester's code excludes the MTV show, or any production, from shooting in a neighborhood. Producers also do not need a permit to shoot in town.
If Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jennifer "JWoww" Farley are headed to Manchester, Fressola has one request.
"The only thing I can insist upon is that they be good neighbors," he said.
Fressola said that he was told by the property owner that shooting would take place "to a very great extent in the interior" of the home and will be completed in October.
The show's producer and a production coordinator at MTV did not immediately return requests to confirm that filming will be done in Manchester.

Good Question. Maybe they needed somewhere not so wild, because Snooki is pregnant, but I agree why Manchester? Unless it was a last resort because no other towns want them and the filming crew found a way to film in a town that does not have any ordinances regarding.......

The drama of it doesn't bother me, but next door is too close for comfort. It is bad enough we get nervous letting our children simply ride their bikes, but extra traffic, strangers passing by..etc. I am so sorry for what you'll have to deal with, even if they are well behaved respectable neighbors....its the audience, spectators and followers that are going to be the problem. Even with so much "writing on the wall", and so much awareness and knowledge of the lack of morality on that show with everyone knowing what to expect, our town allows this? It's funny how many people miss the plus side to have the cast of TV show in town. Revenues for local businesses! Nothing horrible has happened at any of the shoots and it brought business to local businesses. Rivoli's was in a story about the cast eating there a lot. Good for Rivoli's. I'd like to see the two new restaurants that opened in Lakehurst pick up some of that business. There are some great places to eat in Manchester. Charlies and Linda's on Rt 37. Gregory's for Seafood. LaGondola is amazing. Manchester was rated as one of the cheapest places to buy a home in the USA. I'll take the press for Manchester. All the show would show is how nice Manchester is. (Once they fix Pine Lake so my kids can swim in it).
Remember, I'm running for Freeholder for Ocean County with Tracy Caprioni this November. We're running on the Democratic-Republican Party as Independents in November. Lower taxes and cutting waste. Lets keep our AAA Moody's rating that is in trouble thanks to our current Freeholders.

Talk about low self esteem. I love Manchester. I moved here 18 years ago from Kendall Park. I bought my first home here. I'm raising my family here. The school system and natural resources are amazing. I couldn't ask for better neighbors. I created my businesses around this area. I see no benefit to moving somewhere else in state. I'm an easy commute into Manhattan, a quick drive to the shore. Parks everywhere. I like my view of Manchester.

This is all so hysterical... I can't believe people are sooooo worried about 2 little girls that were lucky enough to find a way to cash in. Who are you all to judge? Jealousy is what's trashy. I lived in Manchester for 20 years, my parents and my in-laws are still there. And I hate to break it to everybody but, there isn't anything to do in Manchester... every kid in town leaves there to find fun in Seaside- which is what I'm sure is going to be the case here. Take a reality check here people, the Ball-Buster cops of Manchester SURELY will not be putting up with any interference from these two. GUARANTEED. They're just parking their asses in the closest town to the shore that they can, nobody will probably even see them. I live in New Egypt up the street from Deena and there's no paparazzi or fans lining the streets over here. Have a little faith in the police there. If they'll harass residents for having an unregistered vehicle on their own property, I'm sure they will have no problem handling 2 dingbat girls. Give me a break people, they're not gonna change Manchester from a quiet residential community to the sewer that Seaside has always been, it was that way before they showed up and it will stay that way when they're gone. It's the same for Manchester, 2 girls can't change an entire community. Puh-leez.

I'm not concerned that they are going to somehow ruin Manchester, but it is annoying. We haven't seen any of the cast members yet, and they are not the ones I'm worried about. Already we have to deal with people driving up and down our cul de sac who don't belong there, and we've had teenagers cutting between our houses to try to get a look at their back yard. There have been no police around whatsoever. If all remains quiet, they can film to their heart's content. I just don't want people invading my property and quiet street. This is the reality of what a show like this brings. Fortunately, it will only be for a couple of months.
