Some Comcast Changes Delayed in Ocean County
Company says Philly HDs by the end of the week

Comcast Cable customers in Point Pleasant, Point Pleasant Beach and the rest of Ocean County will have high-definition feeds of Philadelphia local channels by the end of the week, the company said Monday.
The carriage of the channels was supposed to have begun last Friday, but while some aspects of planned changes to the company's high-def lineup were completed, the Philadelphia additions never appeared.
"We did need to delay some of those additions but we fully expect them to be available by the end of the week," said Jennifer Bilotta, a company spokeswoman, on Monday.
Most of the changes to Comcast's lineup – deleting legacy feeds of HD channels in the 200s range, as well as the addition of a few other channels including WLNY, a Long Island, N.Y., station – were completed.
The delay could cause some confusion for Philadelphia Eagles fans.
The team is scheduled to play a preseason football game against the New England Patriots Monday night at 8 p.m. which will air in high definition on WPVI (ABC) and ESPN.
If the game is blacked out on ESPN due to local carriage agreements, Eagles fans in Ocean County will have to settle for a standard definition feed of the game.
Over the weekend, Mercer County fans of the New York Giants and Jets reportedly watched their teams in standard-def only after NFL Network was blacked out.
In those areas, Comcast was scheduled to add HD feeds of New York-based channels last week. Those channel additions were also delayed.
The new channel lineups, including the Philadelphia HD additions, apply to all three of Ocean County's Comcast systems.

Why would anyone, anywhere in New Jersey want to watch an Eagles game unless they're playing the Giants? All of New Jersey is a part of the New York-New Jersey Metropolitan area. Any Eagles fans in the area should go back to Philly where they came from. I am so tired of Eagles, Phillies, 76er and Flyer fans polluting the Jersey Shore.

Really? I'm not an Eagle fan, but anyone with a monacrim of local knowledge knows that Ocean County is closer to Philly than NYC, and has always had a large contingent of Philly sports fans - Phillies, Eagles, 76ers and Flyers. Southern NJ is almost all Philly centric.
All of NJ is certainly NOT NY Metro. The only part of NJ that is considered part of the NY Metro area Monmouth, Middlesex, Bergen, etc. It's a stretch to say even northern Ocean County is NY Metro. Anything south and west of Toms River is Philly Metro.
Educate yourself before you open your big yap.

Those jerks who root for the Philly teams are betraying their heritage as New Jersyites. This is why they need to leave and go back to Pennsylvania. Has anyone ever used the phrase Pennsylvania-New Jersey Metropolitan Area. Of course not! It's the New York-New Jersey Metropolitan Area and that includes all of New Jersey. So shut your own yap!

And again, Comcast proves that in a market with no competition, the monopoly can get away with crummy service. They advertise "Xfinity" mobile for all customers except NJ! Their customer service is horrible, the only thing worse is the service itself. Old, antiquated equipment delivered by a company whose motto seems to be "if you don't like it, go somewhere else." unfortunately, because Verizon stopped rolling out FIOS, we'll never see proper competition or better service out of them.
Anyone who has HD service and suffered this service interruption should call and request a refund. It's only a small amount per person to be sure, but if a few thousand customers call and get the refund, someone at Comcast might take notice.

Every time I get an interruption I call and ask for a credit. I thought Cablevision was bad but boy was I mistaken. They've actually told me that they know they have a problem with their DVR boxes but can't change suppliers until their current contract runsout. So the consumer is out of luck. Another problem is that instead of using their revenue to fix their system they give away free computers to school children in Philadelphia. Charity is great but why should New Jersey residents be subsidizing Pennsylvania residents? No one ever gave my kids free computers.

I miss WPIX. I don't need STYLE twice on my cable box. How much "Sex and the City" re-runs do they have to run? Geez. No more NYC parades? Sad.
