My spouse has been hovering over the TV coverage of the Olympics in addition to the usual array of nonsense sports but he didn't know that Curiousity landed on Mars, let alone know what Curiousity was or its mission. Sadly, this is the mindset of many Americans. Sporst should be an overall part of the news, not the dominant feature and the Olympics should not be on five different channels simultaneously. Our bodies may be more exercised than in the past but our brains have become dead wood.

Classic liberal. You don't like it or understand it so no one should or do it or enjoy watching it. You know what's best for us. You should run for office. You could sponsor some bills to tax all sports.

How is gjc a liberal by saying that we have been inundated with Olympics??? You must be a classic conservative then. I agree with gjc - it's cool to watch the events, but it's around the clock and there are certainly other important things going on in the world.

First, she has a problem with her husband watching so much Olympics. That is "in addition to the usual array of nonsense sports". She seems to have a problem with him watching anything she doesn't think is worthy. Millions of people play, watch and make money on sports. But to her it is nonsense. Classic.
Now, if collecting government checks and entitlements was an OIympic event she'd probably like it. Or maybe the most billions spent in the shortest time. Gold medal there.

Jerseyswamps - you seem to have gjc pegged into a stereotype just as you complain she has done to her husband. Why don't you lay off. You can share an opinion just don't flame on people. Insinuating that an anonymous poster is on entitlement checks makes you seem like you are more the problem than the solution. Rethink how you share ideas and you might find people listen

Tom, I didn't mean to imply she or her family received any kind of entitlement. I meant if the Olympics had events like I suggested she would then find the games more interesting and she would enjoy watching them. She'd cheer them on to win lots of government checks.
I also know gjc is easily offended because she has no sense of humor or at least can not see when someone is making a joke. I meant the whole thing as a joke to see if I could get a rise out of her.
