VFW in Point Beach Holds Memorial Ceremony Today

Ceremony follows bike parade on Arnold Avenue

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4715 in Point Beach will hold a Memorial Day ceremony today, following the bike parade on Arnold Avenue.

The VFW Color Guard will participate in the parade which is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at the Bank of America parking lot across from the Elks Lodge on Arnold Avenue and ending at the band shell.

Following that, members of the VFW Post 4715 will hold a brief memorial ceremony at the post at 603 St. Louis Avenue, said Vincent Castin, a Post Adjutant.

A few veterans will speak, wreaths will be laid by the American flag and there will be a 21-gun salute.

Regarding the bike parade, all ages are invited to participate.

In honor of Memorial Day, all are encouraged to decorate their bikes, strollers and wagons in red, white and blue. Floats are also welcome. If any veterans are in need of a vehicle to ride in, there will be one provided.
