It' nice to see my post has generated such interest. The problem with the lights asRead More"Resident&q uot; says is that a qualified company generously donated their time to hang the lights. For some reason, they have not returned to remove them. In baseball, a player can make a great play but then drop the ball- making half a play. Comcast cable has made half a play. Hopefully the council will get them back to complete the play and keep The Beach from becoming the joke-at-the-shore.

@Mr Yappy, let me preface by thanking you for soliciting the keen interest of the masses. It'sRead Morecert ainly been an interesting and meaningful read. However, I fail to see where your baseball analogy makes sense or is applicable. The aforementioned dropping of the ball negates the 'great play' which you alluded to thus rendering said play as not great at all, though perhaps a valiant effort. I suppose it's a half empty/ half full type of circumstance. If the lights are not taken down by those that generously installed them, should not the community be thankful for having the lights at all? Somehow, I seem to think that some way an accommodation can be made and those lights will someday shine again. Certainly, it would be a shame if said lights were never more. I do have an outside the box idea to resolve this issue, since this is apparently a pissing match over whom is responsible for the lighting and who will pay for it. This is what you need to do: you need to find someone (even if covertly) to hang a religious symbol such as a Menorah or a Nativity figure on the dangling decos and the ACLU will swoop down like a buzzard on road kill and ,*poof *, the lights WILL come down. You needn't thank me; consider it a public service. With that issue resolved, I feel compelled to apprise you of another situation that concerns me greatly. By all appearances, your old acquaintance ( shall we say) @Spooner seems to have taken up residence at the bottom of a bottle. I'm not talking about a little foray in to the darker side, but rather a full tilt bottoming out. Any ideas how she may purge these demons before societal degradation ensues? I only ask because I care and thought that you probably would as well. Regards, and Happy Easter if you celebrate such a thing.

Penn Cross, I disagree with you. Manasquan's, Spring Lake and Asbury all have a better downtownRead Moreatmo sphere than pt. pleasant. Pt. Pleasant is outdated like their hanging snow flakes that they couldn't afford to put up or take down. The million dollar bathroom being built is not in the downtown area where it is needed the most.

To quote Patch 'Use of Service' policy : You may use this Service solely for personal andRead Morenon-commer cial purposes. That is to say: You can’t use the Service to make a living unless you enter into a separate agreement with us that says you can.

Don't forget that politician from one of the flyover states who said that a woman can't getRead Morepregnant from a "legitimate rape" because her body will shut down. What a piece of crap!

Hi Edward - Unfortunately I'm only one guy and have many, many more responsibilities than I used to Read Morewhen it comes to news coverage. I try to give Brick some priority given my history with this particular site and the fact that I'm a township resident, but unfortunately you guys are "sharing" me with some other local communities and the county as a whole these days.

For what it's worth, "finding" news in Brick has never been an issue. ;)
