The Point Pleasant Climate Action Committee is hosting A Walk in the Park at Riverfront Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m Saturday.

The event is part of the Mayor's Wellness Campaign (see attached fliers).

The goal of the campaign is to implement new programs which will promote active living and healthier lifestyles for the men, women and children of our community.

A Walk in the Park is a dog-friendly walk that will incorporate important information about pet safety, animal welfare, and you and your pet's health.

Meridian Healthcare will be providing blood pressure screenings and other health information and several small businesses and organizations, including Bullys Behaven, Canine and Equine Massage Therapy and Point Paws, will be in attendance promoting their services.

In addition, Peter Campione of Kindred Souls Canine Center will perform a free demonstration.

All dogs are welcome and 2012 Licensed Dogs are eligible for gift baskets from several local businesses.

The Climate Action Committee is still welcoming additional local pet-oriented businesses.

The raindate for this event is Sunday from 10 am. to 1 p.m.

Thanks to Diane's Professional Grooming, Harbor Pet Supplies, Maritime Pet Grooming, West Side Pet Grooming, and Point Pleasant Borough PBA #158 for their donations.
