Partly Sunny Skies, Lots of Events Planned in the Point Area for Weekend

Taking off work early to start your Labor Day weekend?

Sunshine will be on and off, but there's no possibility of rain before Saturday afternoon, the National Weather Service predicts.

  • Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 80. Light and variable wind becoming southwest 5 to 8 mph in the morning.
  • Friday Night: Patchy fog after 5am. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 66. Southwest wind around 8 mph.
  • Saturday: A slight chance of thunderstorms after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 84. Southwest wind 6 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
As the unofficial end of summer draws near, there are also a number of events planned in the Point area before people head back to school or work.

On Sept. 1 at 7:00 p.m.,  the Big Joe's Talent Show will be held at the Pavilion Beach Stage.

On Sept. 2, at 7:30 p.m., the Jenkinson's Music Festival Finale and Fireworks  will be held, followed by  fireworks at dark.
