Grand Opening For Antique Emporium's Conversion Into Condos In Point Beach

The landmark property formerly known as Antique Emporium is being developed by Roman Barsky and Vincent Palmieri into the Emporium at the Beach condos, according to Gloria Nilson & Co. Real Estate’s Bay Head office manager Peter Zanowic.

A grand opening will take place on February 9th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The new development will feature 12 units, priced from $399,000. Each spacious two-bedroom condo comes equipped with two full baths, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, decorative trim moldings and Brazilian cherry hardwood flooring. One parking space is included in the purchase price and, as a rare bonus feature, the building will offer residents a shared rooftop terrace to be used exclusively by the condo owners.

“The transformation of this landmark building is evidence of the real estate evolution taking place in beautiful Point Pleasant Beach,” said Peter Zanowic, manager of Gloria Nilson’s Bay Head office. “The distinguishable character of the Emporium at the Beach facade will be preserved and we hope to see it stay that way for many years to come as it welcomes new residents.”

“I wanted to get across to homebuyers that you can play up the history of this charming building whether you’re 30 or 60 years old,” said Mary Catherine, principal of MCM Design. “Once you walk through the lobby of Emporium at the Beach, I want it to feel like home.”

The former owner of the Antique Emporium, Clara Johnson, sold the property to Roman Barsky and Vincent Palmieri on December 31, 2012. The buyers were represented by Gloria Nilson’s Peter Zanowic. Mrs. Johnson and her family opened the popular antique store in 1981 after buying out the Osborne family who had been operating a furniture business in the space.
