NJ SHARES PROVIDES ENERGY ASSISTANCE FOR THOSE IMPACTED BY SUPERSTORM SANDY

NJ SHARES Provides Energy Assistance for Those Impacted by Superstorm Sandy.

As New Jersey residents impacted by Superstorm Sandy are struggling to get back on their feet, many people may be experiencing difficulty paying their electric and natural gas bills. NJ SHARES has energy assistance available in all New Jersey counties, including those affected by Sandy. Anyone who has experienced a financial setback, often caused by unforeseen circumstances such as a natural disaster, is encouraged to seek out the resources available to them through NJ SHARES.

Some residents who sustained Sandy-related storm damage may have never needed financial assistance in the past. However, the temporary crisis created by the Superstorm has placed enormous constraints on many people's ability to return to a normal life. By offering qualified households help with their utility payments NJ SHARES can relieve some of that pressure.

NJ SHARES is able to provide this relief for those facing financial challenges, but not eligible for other state and federal programs, through the generous support of its donors and funders. Those families hit hard by Sandy who are focusing on replacing their houses and putting their lives back together, and have fallen behind on their energy bills can contact NJ SHARES directly at 1-866-NJ SHARES (657-4273) or visit www.njshares.org. Assistance is also available through NJ SHARES network partners of more than 270 community-based social service agencies (follow link for complete listing by county) operating out of 324 sites throughout New Jersey.
