Acclaimed Chef Announces Grand Opening Of New Restaurant In Point Beach

Acclaimed chef Scott Giordano has announced the grand opening for The Poached Pear Bistro will take place on Friday, May 30.

Seated on Arnold Avenue in the heart of downtown Point Pleasant Beach, the New American restaurant will present a compilation of Giordano’s signature dishes and inventive culinary approach, as well as a menu complimented by an accomplished service team.

Formerly the executive chef for more than a decade at Whispers, one of Zagat’s top-rated Jersey Shore restaurants, and named one of New Jersey’s leading chefs by Best Chefs America in 2013, Giordano credits his unique culinary style to influences that span his career at acclaimed restaurants in New Jersey and San Francisco.

Giordano adds, “After more than two decades of invaluable bi-coastal culinary experience, I have honed my style and expertise to create a menu at The Poached Pear Bistro that will spotlight seasonal ingredients prepared with simple elegance.  The menu is delicately balanced – from house-made pastas to grass-fed beef and line-caught seafood.  It is designed to appeal to those who enjoy exquisite cuisine in an inviting atmosphere with consistent, top-notch service.”

Adding a touch of family warmth to The Poached Pear Bistro atmosphere will be Giordano’s brother, Marc, who will head the front-of-the-house staff as maître ď.  Once opened, the Giordano brothers have plans to expand the restaurant to add a private room designed specifically for in-house events and catering.

Sample menu items from The Poached Pear Bistro menu include, but are not limited to:  House-made Potato Gnocchi, Asparagus Fries, Duck Breast and Foie Gras, Rack of Lamb Persillade, Potato-Crusted Halibut, Apple Cider Brined Pork Chop, Crab Cakes and Vegetarian Risotto. There also will be a variety of creative house-made desserts available.

Executive Chef Scott Giordano is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York.  Prior to his decade-long run as executive chef at Whispers, Giordano worked at the acclaimed Saddle River Inn in Saddle River, New Jersey as well as at restaurants in San Francisco.
