Belmar Seafood Festival Goes On

Despite forecast, annual festival expected to attract thousands

Despite a gloomy forecast, the 25th Annual New Jersey Seafood Festival in Belmar will go on as planned.

Mayor Matt Doherty confirmed by email this morning that the event will not be postponed due to rain.

The New Jersey Seafood Festival is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday in Belmar's Silver Lake Park on Ocean Avenue between 5th and 6th avenues.

The annual celebration features dozens of restaurants and other vendors. The event has seen attendance eclipsing 150,000 in previous years and despite the forecast, a massive turnout is expected again this year.

Live entertainment, a wine tent and children's activities are all scheduled.
