All proceeds to help chronically ill children and their families

The Carmie Brady Foundation will be holding its Sixth Annual Fundraiser at Jenkinson's in Point Pleasant Beach from 2 to 6 p.m. today (Sunday).

The Carmie Brady Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization that raises money for sick children in the local community.

The foundation is run solely by volunteers so that all the money raised from the event will go to these local families, according to a prepared statement from the foundation.

Tickets can be bought online or at the door for $20.

The event includes entertainment by the Brue Crew and the Pipes and Drums of the Jersey Shore, food, happy hour prices, a 50/50, gift auction and a face painter for the kids.

To date, the Carmie Brady Foundation has helped over 40 families in northern Ocean and southern Monmouth counties who have children suffering from serious illness, the statement says.

"This money is given to these families for the benefit of the child. Some families have used the money to take the child to Disney World, some have used it to buy a much-needed medical device not covered by insurance, etc.," the statement says.

"In years past we have solicited gifts from hundreds of local businesses in order to display a massive gift auction at our event. This year, out of respect for all of the local businesses who have supported us over the years, we have decided not to solicit gifts. So many of our donors have suffered huge losses from the storm, so we did not want to ask them for yet another gift for our event.

"The names of those who have donated gifts to our fundraiser over the years will be displayed on televisions throughout the event in order to show our appreciation to all our supporters from years past. We will still have a small gift auction at the event."
