Barnegat Bay Blitz - A Watershed-Wide Cleanup!

Point Pleasant Borough volunteers will be meeting at the Community Park on Bridge Avenue at the corner of Beaver Dam Road starting at 8:30 AM for a 9 AM start time.  This will provide an opportunity to distribute supplies and split into groups to address the various site locations.  There will be gloves for everyone to use but feel free to bring your own.

The Barnegat Bay Blitz is a significant demonstration of the DEP's commitment to restoring the health of the bay, for which a comprehensive ten-point action plan was announced on December 9th, 2010.  The first Blitz took place on October 18th, 2011, when volunteers from DEP, including senior management, plus dozens of schools, senior citizens, environmentalists, businesses, and even military personnel braved rainy weather, fanning out to marshlands, creeks, marinas and the bay itself to clean up trash and debris as part of the first Blitz.

We are stillaccepting volunteers for this second round.
