Point Pleasant Boro Rotary's Kevin Brue Melanoma Awareness Father's Day 5K

The 7th annual  5K and Fun Run hosted by the Point Pleasant Boro Rotary Club will take place on Saturday at the Community Park on Bridge  Avenue.

The fun run starts at 8:00 a.m. The 5K goes off at 8:30 a.m. on a flat and fast course through the Bay Head Shores community.

The 5K is named for Kevin A. Brue who lost a courageous battle with melanoma several years ago. His father, John Brue Sr., is a Point Boro Rotarian and member of the race committee.

Proceeds from the event will go towards the club's efforts to help melanoma research and to aid various charities and community-based organizations and groups. OceanFirst Bank, with branches in Point Pleasant and Point Pleasant Beach, is the prime sponsor for the seventh year. Investors Bank is the platinum sponsor.

This year's 5K will again feature electronic timing to expedite same day finish results. Read more here: http://pointpleasant.patch.com/groups/events/p/point-boro-rotarys-kevin-brue--melanoma-awareness-fat...
