Live bands at Idle Hour raise money for Point Beach Fire and EMS

 

A rockin' fundraiser at the Idle Hour Saturday night to raise money for the Point Beach Fire Department is now also raising money for Point Beach EMS.

The fundraiser, starting at 4 p.m. with a line-up of seven bands,

Then the fire department asked Rock-N-Relief, the event organizers, to donate part of the proceeds to Point Beach EMS (also known as the Point Pleasant First Aid and Emergency Squad).

Rock-N-Relief announced on their Facebook event page: "I wanted to let everyone know that we're including the Point Pleasant First Aid too. The Fire Department brought it to our attention that Point Pleasant First Aid took a hit and asked if they could include them in the Rock-N-Relief effort. Of course we will. These fine men & women, of both organizations, are volunteers. This is the least we can do to say 'Thank you.'

"Please stop by The Idle Hour, the Fire Department, or the First Aid Department to get your tickets to this Saturday's Rock-N-Relief event. Help us help those who help all of us!"

Tickets are $15 each if purchased in advance at the Idle Hour and $20 each if purchased at the door. The price of admission gets you non-stop live local music, a hot buffet, and drink specials.

Here's the line-up: Five Mile Smile with Kidd Figg and Mark Sroka of Rock-N-Relief opening at 4 p.m., followed by: Ric Rey from PA; Point Borough's John Brue and the Brue Crew coming on around 6 p.m.; Tyler Veit Blue Trio; the Naked Apes; the Mangos; and Matt Noffsinger hitting the stage around 10 p.m.(The schedule is subject to change.)

Last month, and also did a fundraiser at the Idle Hour for the Brick Fire Department.

Rock-N-Relief was founded to help assist organizations that helped residents during and after Superstorm Sandy ravaged the local area.
