St. Gregory's Pantry to Distribute Thanksgiving Food on Monday

Hot meals across the street today at Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church

 

St. Gregory’s Pantry, located at St. Mary’s By-the-Sea Episcopal Church at Bay and Atlantic avenues, will hold its annual Thanksgiving food distribution from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday.  

St. Gregory’s Pantry also announced that beginning Monday, Nov. 26, the Pantry will resume its normal hours, Monday-to-Friday from 10 a.m. to noon, for the distribution of non-perishable food and household items.

Volunteers at Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church at Bay and Forman avenues will serve hot meals for those impacted by Hurricane Sandy at the Presbyterian church's Christian Education Building from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday.

The effort is in conjunction with St. Gregory’s, an ecumenical food pantry located at St. Mary’s-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, where more than 5,000 hot meals had been served before the move to the Presbyterian Church.

St. Mary’s also announced that a laptop and Wi-Fi is available for anyone who needs to register with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Please call the church at 732-892-9254 for further information.  

St. Mary’s Church and St. Gregory’s Pantry are seeking donations of gift cards and cash to be used by those in need for prescriptions, eyeglasses, sneakers, household items, fuel, change for laundromats, etc.

"Thanks to the overwhelming response by the community, no other donations are needed at this time" other than cash and gift cards, according to St. Mary's.
