The Joan Dancy and PALS (People with ALS) Foundation serves ALS patients
and their families in Monmouth and Ocean Counties by providing direct
grants for products and services to improve their everyday lives, and
relies solely on donations to sustain its mission.
Point Boro resident Charles Morris - who is a friend of Rivera and agreed to host the yard sale at his home - said that the items for sale at his Treeneedle address include unopened DVDs, Lenox, cut glass, and lots of other items. He said the biggest problem he is running into right now is "not enough tables." He said if anyone is willing to donate a table for the day, he would appreciate them emailing him at firstname.lastname@example.org
Rivera has been active in promoting ALS awareness, and last year raised $3,800 at the Annual Valentine Plunge event.
The event will be held in Point Pleasant on Saturday, Oct 19th from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a rain date of Sunday Oct 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
