FEMA to Give $2.6 Million to Point Beach for Sandy Clean-up Costs

Late Friday afternoon, US Senator Robert Menendez announced that FEMA will allocate about $2.6 million to Point Beach to help reimburse the cost of removing Sandy-related debris from the town. Now the money goes to the state and the town officials don't know exactly when they'll get the cash.

Father's Day 5K and One-mile Fun Run Sat. in Point Boro

Registration has closed for the fundraiser event held Saturday morning (June 15) at Community Park, Point Borough. The fundraiser is in honor of Kevin Brue, who died from melanoma. His brother, John Brue, of The Brue Crew, is playing at the event.

Seniors Have Until Sept. 16 to Apply for "Senior Freeze" Low-income seniors and disabled residents have until Sept. 16 to apply for partial reimbursement of 2012 property taxes through this state program.

Birdsall Pleads Guilty In Corruption Scheme The large company, based in Eatontown, that has employees and clients all over Monmouth and Ocean counties, pleads guilty to pay to play charges.

The Ocean One loses power again and needs to hail for help from the Coast Guard. But they got more than they bargained for when the Coast Guard inspected the commercial scallop vessel and found 21 safety violations. So the boat can't leave the pier until all deficiencies have been corrected.

Man in Point Beach Hotel Facing Drug Charges A Florida man apparently had come to Point Beach to work as a contractor in Sandy's aftermath. But he was allegedly selling more than his rebuilding skills. Police say they found heroin, cocaine and wads of cash in his hotel room and now he's facing serious drug possession and intent to distribute charges.
