Clarence Clemons Day Will Rock Martell's Jan. 11

The E Street Band's "Big Man" will be honored in a special concert Jan. 11 at Martell's in Point Pleasant Beach.

The late Clarence Clemons is honored state-wide by a resolution proclaiming Jan. 11 "Clarence Clemons Day," but Martell's promises one of the rockingest celebrations as the Official Clemens Family Celebration.

The event features special guests, including Clarence Clemons III.

Clarence “Nick” Clemons III, son of legendary saxophonist  Clarence “Big Man”Clemons invites you to celebrate and honor his father’s legacy at the Official ClemonsFamily Celebration being held January 11th, 2014 at Martell’s Tiki Bar on the boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach.

The event will take the audience back to the early 80’s when Clarence Clemons owned anight club called Big Man’s West in Red Bank, NJ.  “Big Man’s West” regulars will perform including: John Cafferty and Michael “Tunes” Antunes of the Beaver Brown Band, JoBonanno & the Godsons of Soul, Gary Bangs, and DJ Lee Mrowicki,  Another highlight of the evening will be the reunion of Clarence’s band – the Original Red Bank Rockers.  The Nick Clemons Band will also perform. The evening’s emcee is WFAS-AM’s “Orlando in the Morning”, Brian Anthony.

This very special night honors the late, great Clarence “Big Man” Clemons on the official, New Jersey designated Clarence Clemons Day on what would have been his 72nd Birthday.  Additional musical guests providing six hours of on-stop entertainment and their own personal tribute to Clarence Clemons include:  Huntley, Mike Rocket, Tommy Byrne, VyntEdge, Eddie Testa, Eric Safka, Sonny Kenn, Sandy Mack, SoulCat, Mario Casella & Eric Greene, Pat Roddy Band, Stormin’ Norman Seldin, Killer Joe & Lido Soul, Joey Stann, Pat Guadagno, Screamin’ Steve and more special surprises.  Nick Clemons is proud to say, “I will continue to work to preserve the legacy of the Big Man and Big Man’s West and this event will give fans an opportunity to show their love for Clarence Clemons and relive the magic that was Big Man’s West for a night”.

Tickets to the celebration are $25 and include a full buffet from 7-10pm and birthday cake celebration. There will be drink specials at this 21 and older event.  Proceeds will benefit NCB Charities’ “Big Man Fund” which was created by Nick Clemons in memory of his legendary father to provide supplement arts funding in our schools. There will also be a very special silent auction.

Although there may be many events in the following weeks, this is the official ClemonsFamily Celebration. Make sure you put this special birthday benefit show on your calendar as friends, fans and loved ones of the Big Man will be in attendance celebrate his birthday. 

Also in attendance will be Shawn Poole, Contributing Writer for Backstreets Magazine and Backstreets.com, the premier magazine/website for Bruce Springsteen fans. Shawn and Backstreets.com have co-sponsored an online petition to create a U.S. postage stamp honoring Clarence Clemons.
