Garbage Dumpers at Brick's Bayside Park

Resident: Keep your household refuse at home, not at the park!

It's a darn shame that local people feel the need to dump their household garbage into the gray cans at Bayview Park.  Just this morning, an individual emptied out the back of his station wagon into the cans.

When I suggested he don't, he said the township should pick up garbage more frequently, and, "don't give me a hard time, lady."  Luckily I have pictures and the plate of his vehicle and the items (including his empty, rusty 5 gallon can of water sealer) he left behind.

I enjoy coming every day to this park and enjoy the water and sunsets.  People like him ruin it for the rest of us. :(

one other side note about a second can: In this area where streets are sand not blacktop, where overhead lines are lower than normal, we do not use gray twp garbage cans unless we live on the highway. The automatic trucks do not pick up garbage in these areas. So, homeowners use their own cans, and a Brick "pup truck" comes with a driver to pick up the garbage. The public works employees are courteous, and take all the garbage. Just thought I'd clarify the 2nd can option. At least 118 homeowners on the barrier island of Brick can not use that opportunity.

If you use your own can, you are only allowed one? What about the dumps?

@ Darrell... they are NOT provided any can on the narrow streets with low hanging wires. We have to use our own cans. Like I said above, the automated trucks do not come up those streets for those reasons. If you live on the "right" side of either 35 north or south, then the automated trucks are used. If you live on the "left" side of either 35 north or south on the island, the regular truck comes and the public works employees drag the cans to the back of the trucks to empty.

BAF That wasn't my question.

@ Darrell, if you question was if we use our own cans, must it be just one? The answer is no.. We are allowed to have several of our own cans that the smaller trucks with the DPW employees pick up. So, going back to my original statment in the beginning, I don't believe the individual was from this particular community when they emptied their station wagon. Hope that helps. :)
