Missing Dog 'Charlie' Found Near Walgreens In Point Beach

"We found him!!!!" declared the dog's owner as he headed home with Charlie Tuesday

A small, mix-breed dog named "Charlie," whose disappearance captured much attention in the area, was found Tuesday in a development behind Walgreens off Route 35 in Point Beach.

"We found him!!!!" declared one of the dog's owners, Jesse Grce, as he headed home with Charlie Tuesday, capturing the moment in a photograph.

"Thank you so much for all of your help. It was truly amazing."

A $500 reward has been offered for the dog, who was last seen near Surf Taco, Route 35, Point Beach.

Charlie, a mostly white Maltese/Yorkie mix, took off on Route 35, towards the Ark restaurant, at about 10 a.m. Monday. He lives in Los Angeles with his owners, who are in the Point Beach area visiting family.

"He's not from here, so he's probably feeling extra lost," said Grce. He and his girlfriend are Charlie's owners.

"Since putting up fliers and Facebook posts, we've had a few people spot him," Grce said earlier this week. "The last one being about 5:30 pm on Route 35 by Surf Taco."

Charlie is "very sweet, but may run away from people if he's scared," Grce said.
