Police blocking off Point Boro Streets As Brielle Shooter May Be Blockaded In Bathroom

Police are blocking Bay Avenue just south of Mount Place in Point Boro in what could be activity connected to Tuesday's Sand Bar shooting,

Patch is checking with reports that the blockade is connected with a search for a person who allegedly shot a woman in the parking lot of the Sand Bar Restaurant, 201 Union Lane, Brielle. 

Reports indicate that a man is being blockaded inside a bathroom.

The shooting occurred in the parking lot at 12:56 a.m. Tuesday, leaving a woman in critical but stable condition at a local hospital, said Charlie Webster, a spokesman for the Monmouth County Prosecutor's office, the agency leading the ongoing investigation.

No one is in custody.

The victim is a 35 year old woman who was shot once, Webster said. Webster added that he does not yet know which hospital she is in, names or other details, but that as he continues to receive information from law enforcement on the scene, he will provide updates to Patch.
