A specialty bakery known for its cupcakes has decided to close its Point Pleasant Beach storefront and take online and catering orders only.
Little Sweet Cakes, on Bay Avenue, announced this week will be its last for the storefront location. A post on the business' facebook page, where staff regularly post the day's flavors, instead announced that Saturday, Jan. 11 would be the last day.
Little Sweet Cakes plans to close its doors Saturday, but told fans web business would include catering and cupcake orders. The business has been at the Bay Avenue storefront since 2011.

Good Morning Everyone,
Little Sweet Cakes will be closing its doors on Saturday January 11th for good. We would like to thank all of our extremely loyal customers (who have become friends) and all of our Facebook supporters and family. It was extremely difficult for us to make this decision but know that we did make it after trying everything we could. We hope to reopen one day, but for now we must close the doors. So this is not goodbye, but more of a see you soon. We will still have our web business and will continue to do catering and make our amazing cupcakes available through that.
Thank you again for making the past 2 years some of the best times we have ever had. Please keep Little Sweet Cakes in mind for all of your future parties and celebrations.
