Beach badge prices and lifeguard hours

Beach badges are not needed at Bay Head until June 18, but there are also no lifeguards until then.

Beach badge prices

  • Younger than 12: Free; Ages 12 and older: $7 daily;  half season: $45; season: $70

Where to buy badges

The office of Bay Head Improvement Association, the entity running the local beaches, at the corner of Mount Street and Lake Avenue. The office will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 28 and 29. Starting June 11, the office will be open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and, starting on June 18, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Parking

Street parking and parking in the municipal lot on Bridge Avenue is free but tends to fill up quickly all summer, especially on weekends and holidays. There is no time limit except for street parking in the Bridge Avenue business district.

Bathrooms

The only facility available to the public is in the municipal complex and police department on Bridge Avenue. Only the police department part of the complex is open on weekends and holidays.

Food and drink

Not allowed on beach except for water in clear, plastic containers. Beachgoers may sit on benches at the entry points to the beach and eat food they have brought. There is no place to buy food or beverages.
