Boo! Halloween Parade and Party Too!

Parade in Point Boro starts noon Sun.; party starts at 1 p.m.

What's the best way to make Point Borough's Halloween parade even better?

Have a big party right after it!

That's what the Point Pleasant Chamber of Commerce is planning for this Sunday.

In the past, the parade that closes down Bridge Avenue for a couple of hours had started at 1 p.m. However, this year the parade starts at noon, to be followed by the Halloween "finish line party" at 1 p.m.

So, everyone should keep in mind that Bridge will be closed down around 11 a.m. and stay that way for at least a couple of hours. Detours should be taken.

The party is scheduled for 1 to 5 p.m. at Bridge Avenue and Beaver Dam Road. The Jazz Lobsters, a big band orchestra, will play from 2 to 4 p.m.

There is no rain date.

There will be food and craft vendors, pony rides, a petting zoo and other fun  activities for the kids. Come in costume or as you are.

How do you register to march in costume in the parade?

Please pre-register at one of these locations: You will be given the parade day information packet with your registration number (needs to be displayed at the parade).

Judging will take place in front of the viewing stand (that's new this year).

Chamber-designated judges will be wearing ribbons for identification. No other individuals will be participating in the judging process.

A registration number must be visible to the judges in order to be judged.

All participants who wish to be judged must pre-register at the line-up location at Wells Fargo between 10:45 and 11:15 a.m., if they have not already pre-registered in the days preceding the parade.

You must be present to receive trophies or prizes.
