Nursing Scholarship Fund To Hold Dinner Dance Fundraiser at Point Elks

Fund provides scholarships to benefit nurses of Ocean Medical Center

 

The Barbara “Foof” Forfar Nursing Scholarship Fund will hold its inaugural dinner-dance fundraiser from 1 to 7 p.m. March 31 at the , 820 Arnold Ave., in Point Pleasant Beach.

The fundraiser will feature a hot and cold buffet, live music from “The Pat Roddy Band,” “Ned Ryerson Live” and other special musical guests and will also include various raffles and selective door prizes throughout the afternoon.

All proceeds of the fundraiser will go directly to the Barbara “Foof” Forfar Nursing ScholarshipFund which annually benefits the nurses of Ocean Medical Center of Brick (NJ) through nursing scholarships.

Tickets are $25 per person and are available for purchase over the phone at 732-714-9485 or at the following locations: Broadway Bar and Grill (106 Randall Ave, Point Beach), Bow-Kay Florist (159 Van Zile Road, Brick), Italian Restaurant (3119 Route 88, Point Boro), Restaurant & Bar (2600 Route 88, Point Boro), Michael Oakes at the Ocean Medical Center Foundation (call 732-751-5116), and the Elks Lodge #1698. A limited number of tickets will also be available for purchase the day of the event at the door.

The Barbara “Foof” Forfar Nursing Scholarship Fund was established on Jan. 15, 2011 and is part of the Ocean Medical Center Foundation family of funds.

The fund was established to honor the memory of Barbara Forfar or “Foof” as she was called by her fellow nurses and other colleagues in the operating room, and her forty-four years of dedication to the nursing profession. Visit www.forfarscholarship.org for more info.
