Patch Give 5: Giving Back By Giving Blood

Patch regional editor Tom Davis and the crack Jersey Shore staff went to Hoffman's Ice Cream in Point Beach Thursday to donate blood.

And we got free ice cream for doing it.

The event was part of a nationwide Give 5 effort that had Patch editors giving back to the communities they cover.

And the New Jersey Blood Services did much to the community when Superstorm Sandy hit last year and depleted its blood supply.
