FURY: Point Boro, Beach In The Dark; More Than 8,000 Without Power
Much of the town has evacuated; trees down; some flooding
More than 8,000 people were in the dark in Point Boro, and another 500 or so in the Beach as the shore towns felt the wrath of Hurricane Sandy on Monday.
Trees and power lines were down all over Point Pleasant Boro. A big tree was blocking the Bridge and Bay avenue intersection.
Police officers were stationed at each entry point that could head toward the beach. Much of the two communities have been evacuated.
