Though a visit from Santa was the highlight, Friday's Point Pleasant Beach tree lighting also was a chance to support school groups and local food drives. Plus, local businesses joined in on the fun and the brass ensemble provided carols. Hot cocoa and festive balloon animals kicked off the evening as crowds gathered to see the tree on Bay Avenue lit. Santa led crowds from the tree to get their picture taken.
