Animal aficionados are welcome to share their love for our four-legged friends at an “Early Valentine’s Day Party FUNraiser” to benefit Rose’s Fund for Animals on Feb. 2.

Pet and people-friendly merchandise will be raffled off during the pre-Valentine’s Day soiree scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. at the VFW Post 2226 at 212 Norwood Ave. in the Oakhurst section of Ocean Township. A vendors’ market, bake sale, cash bar, and live entertainment will also be part of the fun in this heart-warming event to assist pets and their families and caretakers in times of need.

A pet Dental Care Pack from Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital, valued at $1,200 to $1,800, and the Love & Care First Aid Basket from Red Bank Veterinary Hospital, a $200 value which includes a $100 gift card for that facility, are a small sample of generously donated items from area businesses that will be raffled off.

Neptune City-based Nylabone has donated a Smart Dogs Gift Basket containing $200 worth of the company’s quality canine products including hygiene products and toys.

Other exciting raffle prizes include a car detailing and oil change package valued at $285 from Sansome Route 66 Auto Mall in Neptune; a wine tasting party for ten persons at Hopewell Vineyards valued at $100, a colorful Vera Bradley tote sporting a $92 value, and a Coffee Lovers’ Basket from Green Mountain Coffee worth $56.

Altogether about 35 baskets and gift cards from area merchants will be raffled off.  Raffle tickets cost $1 each.  Live music will be provided by Jim Clerico, a local singer.

Those unable to attend but eager to assist Rose’s Fund may donate $1 for a specific raffle item at www.rosesfund.org by visiting the website, hitting the “Donate” button and providing billing information. The donation to Rose’s Fund and raffle entry can also be made through PayPal.
