Point Boro Man Needs Bone Marrow Drive Sun. to Be a Success

Critical need for bone marrow for Colin Wyckoff who has leukemia

A bone marrow drive to save the life of Colin Wyckoff, a 19-year-old Point Borough man with leukemia, will be held from 8:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Sacred Heart Church, 751 Main Ave., Bay Head.

Community Blood Services of New Jersey and the Be The Match Registry are working with the Wyckoff family to help obtain bone marrow for Colin, a Borough High School graduate who is  waging his second fight with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

"Colin needs a bone marrow transplant in order to win this battle. He is a very talented artist, witty optimist, and a true fighter," says the Facebook event page.

"Our goal is to advocate and fundraise for this cause, to help cancer patients find a match, and to enlighten the community of the process of finding a bone marrow donor. A cheek swab can save a life. Our goal is to find Colin a donor and save his life."

For more information, please see the Facebook event page.

Thanks to Scott Wyckoff, Colin's father, for sharing the attached photo of Colin with Patch.
